You must checkout this stunning campaign by Nokia, called “Position Art“. Oh my word, Max and I watched and laughed for minutes! Best of all, there’s no Nokia branding on the site – it just so happens that the character, Stavros uses the N82 phone to create his art.
It asks people to participate in helping Stavros, a wacky egomaniac artist, to creae art in beautiful cities around the world, using GPS tracking and the landscape as your canvas.
Brilliant! It says exactly what it needs to, positions the phone as a powerful navigational device, and doesn’t make me wary of being tricked or lied to with the usual big logos and condescending copywriting. I want an N82 now!
Thanks to Uwe for the heads up.
Update: Lol! Forgot to share the link… HERE!

Dave, Link???
Oh my sack! That’s hectic
You forgot to include a link though. I had to google it.

Hi Dave
Give us a link to the ad. C’mon, bru!
LOL! Okes, sorry, I was in a rush when I posted it. Thanks for putting the link up Migs!
I cried with laughter while watching it. And then felt very sad that I only had an N82 to test for a month…
Imagine me with a lowly Sony Ericsonn K810i
What do you know, time for an ugrade
Anyone know who’s the ad agency that worked on the campaign?
Brilliant, brilliant work!!
Brilliant stuff! I’m going to build a few myself. It is a shame thaough that a lot of people that have submitted examples haven’t got the point and just submitted sketches that are not actually tracing routes on streets (or open landscape).
I reckon this will give more than a few people an excuse for more exercise!
By the pay, I have a Nokia 6220 Classic (free on renewing my contract with Orange UK) and position art is possible with Nokia Maps and/or SportsTracker, With the latter you can see your drawing as you create it – a sort of freehand.
Cheers
Will
