New Year's Resolutions - For a Change
Monday, January 12, 2009 at 10:04AM
Today is my first day back at work after a month's holiday - the longest time off that I've taken since I was at varsity. It has been truly remarkable for me to take the time to relax, play, connect with loved-ones and get healthy again. I feel so resourceful and enthusiastic for the work ahead that I've decided to make regular holidays a productivity habit!
Although in the past I've been sceptical of them, I've even got a couple of goals and resolutions this year, such as:
Of course, there's a few more, but hopefully all will be revealed in action. Have you made any goals and resolutions?
Although in the past I've been sceptical of them, I've even got a couple of goals and resolutions this year, such as:
- To blog every day. I'll set aside roughly an hour every day to gather my thoughts and share them on the various blogs I keep (including this one).
- To start a regular Creative Commons event series sometime in the next three months - like 27dinner but with live music and arts. Here's an awesome vid of the last one we did: CC Salon Cape Town.
- To be extremely time oriented and punctual. The difference between success and failure in anything I've done usually comes down to timing, this year I'm getting intimate with it.
- To say "no" a lot more this year. Especially to unnecessary meetings, dull projects, and - as always - to strangers with sweets:p
Of course, there's a few more, but hopefully all will be revealed in action. Have you made any goals and resolutions?

personally I never say no to sweets:)
looking forward to reading more blog posts- makes it far easier to stalk you online;)
happy new year!
Punctuality was skipped in my genetic code but it is really important so I'll hijack that one!
Hmm, got to go with Wendy on this one, accepting the sweets can be a far more exciting option ...
Lol! I'll do my best to keep it up. The sweets thing is actually half se.ri.us : I haven't touched junk food or alcohol since a week before new year!
Wising you a rocking 09 Wendy.
@Paul You and me both brother.
@MissP I'll allow myself a cheat sweet once a week then.
In that case we'll have to re-christen 2009 as the year of living dangerously
Lol!
I got to agree with you on the "learning to say no" resolution. Have a splendid 2009!
Thanks Gino. I'm already struggling:-p Hope you have a splendid '09 too.
