Naming A New Business

I just finished a meeting with a large corporate company who have spent millions developing a super-cool product which they believe will transform the industry. The product is, for now, called.... "Jeffrey".

After a good chuckle at the name , this made me think about some characteristics of a new business. Stuff like:

Who would interact with it?

What community would it belong in?

What is it's personality?

Where is it based?

How old does it act?

And I thought what if a business was called something like "Julie Matthews" or something. Would I treat it differently? I think I'd take better care of her reputation and who she gets involved with. Besides that I think it would be good for a laugh.

more than good for a laugh it's GENIUS!!
honestly.. I LOVE this LOVE love love it

..from the vantage point that I take on personal branding for geniuses & other exceptional beasties it's so funny how parents will now have to think ahead when naming their kiddies with Google in mind to make their lives easier for online reputation management.
These are times when you want a weird name or risk being mixed up with a plumber or transatlantic balloon-builder when you're going for that job at the bank.

So now we have to not only contend with other people but companies sharing our names. LOL this is so much fun, the world has become so wonky :-P
Nice one Marketing Geek

Finding a name.. it's harder than it seems. I went through a few names before settling on one. I even considered using my name but that could work negatively against my own personal brand.

I think the questions you ask are extremely important when deciding on naming a new business. Hi 5 Dave :)

Hey - nice blog, just looking around some websites, seems a really nice platform you are using. I'm currently using Wordpress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run.

You know, its actually not each and every day that I leave a acknowledgement on anyone's blog. Truly, I don't truly stick with so many blogs because I seriously just do not have the time. But I thought you should know that this submission was exceptional. Thats all! http://www.sidpoudyal.info/sidlikes/traffic-voodoo-20-unstoppable-traffic.html" rel="nofollow">jeff johnson blog

I love dressing up for my husband. Dressing up in my sexy lingerie always makes me feel sexy and really turns my husband on. Unfortunately, we tend to not get much sleep when I play dress up. :-)
